Cannara ist eine Stadt und Gemeinde am Topino in der Au von Zentralumbrien in der Provinz Perugia. Es liegt etwa 7 km westlich von Spello und 9 km nördlich von Bevagna. Es ist ein zurückhaltendes landwirtschaftliches Dorf: Sein Hauptgeschäft ist der Anbau von Weizen und Zwiebeln. Der Bahnhof wird für den Güterverkehr genutzt und bedient keine Fahrgäste. Wie aus der Etymologie des Namens hervorgeht (von Canna, Binsen), handelt es sich um eine mittelalterliche Stadt, die nach regionalen Maßstäben neu ist, da sich der Ort in früheren Zeiten im Lacus Clitorius unter Wasser befand, der einen Großteil des Gebiets zwischen Bastia Umbra bedeckte und Foligno und wurde erst im Mittelalter entwässert.
