Chiasso (italienische Aussprache: [ˈkjasso]; lombardisch: Ciass [ˈtʃas]) ist eine Gemeinde im Landkreis Mendrisio im Kanton Tessin in der Schweiz. Chiasso ist die südlichste Gemeinde der Schweiz und liegt an der Grenze zu Italien vor der Ponte Chiasso (einem Frazione von Como, Italien). Die Gemeinde Chiasso umfasst die Dörfer Boffalora, Pedrinate und Seseglio. 2007 beschlossen die drei Bürgermeister von Chiasso, Vacallo und Morbio Inferiore, sich zu einer Gemeinde zusammenzuschließen. Die neue Einheitsgemeinde mit rund 15.300 Einwohnern auf einem Gebiet von 9,2 km² wurde im November 2007 von der Bevölkerung abgelehnt.
