Bozen ist der Sitz der Freien Universität Bozen-Bozen, an der Vorträge und Seminare in Englisch, Deutsch und Italienisch gehalten werden. Die Stadt ist auch die Heimat des Alpini-Oberkommandos (COMALP) der italienischen Armee und einiger ihrer Kampf- und Unterstützungseinheiten.
