Barbaresco ist ein italienischer Wein aus der Nebbiolo-Traube. Barbaresco wird in der Region Piemont in einem Gebiet der Langhe unmittelbar östlich von Alba und speziell in den Gemeinden Barbaresco, Treiso und Neive sowie in dem Gebiet der Frazione San Rocco Seno d'Elvio hergestellt, das einst Teil der Gemeinde war Barbaresco und gehört jetzt zur Gemeinde Alba. Es wurde 1966 der Status Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) und 1980 der Status Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita verliehen. Der Wein wird häufig mit Barolo verglichen - einem anderen Wein aus Nebbiolo aus dem Piemont. Obwohl die Weine viele Gemeinsamkeiten aufweisen, gibt es einige deutliche Unterschiede zwischen ihnen.
