Certaldo ist eine Stadt und Gemeinde in der Toskana in der Metropole Florenz mitten in Valdelsa. Es liegt etwa 35 Kilometer südwestlich des Doms von Florenz. Es ist 50 Minuten mit der Bahn und 35 Minuten mit dem Auto südwestlich von Florenz und 40 Minuten mit der Bahn nördlich von Siena. Es war die Heimat der Familie von Giovanni Boccaccio, Autor des Decameron. Er starb in seinem Haus in der Stadt und wurde hier 1375 beigesetzt.
