Gallarate [ɡallaˈraːte] ist eine Stadt und Gemeinde von Alto Milanese in der Lombardei und der Metropolregion Mailand in Norditalien in der Provinz Varese. Es hat eine Bevölkerung von rund 54.000 Menschen. Es ist der Knotenpunkt der Eisenbahnen nach Varese, Laveno und Arona (für den Simplon). Etwa 10 Kilometer westlich befinden sich die Elektrowerke von Vizzola, wo 23.000 PS aus dem Tessin stammen. Sein Territorium wird vom Fluss Arnetta durchquert und gehört zum Naturpark Tessin.
