Innsbruck ist die Hauptstadt Tirols und die fünftgrößte Stadt Österreichs. Es befindet sich im Inn-Tal, an seiner Kreuzung mit dem Wipp-Tal, das etwa 30 km südlich Zugang zum Brennerpass bietet. Das Hotel liegt im weiten Tal zwischen hohen Bergen, der sogenannten Nordkette in den Karwendel-Alpen (Hafelekarspitze, 2.334 m) im Norden und dem Patscherkofel (2.246 m) und den Serles (2.718 m) ) nach Süden.
