Forbach (for-BAHK, Französisch: [fɔʁbak], Deutsch: [ˈfɔʁbax]; Lorraine Franconian: Fuerboch) ist eine Gemeinde im Departement Mosel im Nordosten der französischen Region Grand Est. Es liegt an der deutschen Grenze, etwa 15 Minuten vom Zentrum von Saarbrücken entfernt, mit dem es einen grenzüberschreitenden Ballungsraum darstellt, und ist Teil des Eurodistrikts Saar-Mosel. Laut der Volkszählung von 2011 hatte Forbach eine Bevölkerung von 21.954 Einwohnern, was es einschließlich seines größeren Stadtgebiets zur größten Stadt in der östlichen Mosel macht. Vor dem Schengen-Vertrag war Forbach ein wichtiger Grenzübergang, an dem Zollverfahren sowohl für den Straßen- als auch für den Schienenverkehr und das Reisen durchgeführt wurden. Von Drusus als römischer Militärposten gegründet. Sein Name stammt aus dem Lateinischen (ad) cōnfluentēs und bedeutet "(am) Zusammenfluss" der beiden Flüsse.
