Nyon [njɔ̃] ist eine Gemeinde im Bezirk Nyon im Kanton Waadt in der Schweiz. Es liegt rund 25 Kilometer nordöstlich des Genfer Stadtzentrums und ist seit den 1970er Jahren Teil der Genfer Metropolregion. Es liegt am Ufer des Genfersees und ist der Sitz des Bezirks Nyon. Die Stadt hat (Stand Dezember 2018) 21.198 Einwohner und ist in der Sportwelt als Sitz der Union der Europäischen Fußballverbände (UEFA) und des Europäischen Klubverbandes (ECA) bekannt. Es ist über die Route Suisse, die Autobahn A1 und die Eisenbahnen des Arc Lémanique mit dem Rest der Schweiz verbunden.

Locarno (italienisch: [loˈkarno], deutsch: [loˈkarno]; tessinisch: Locarn [luˈkɑːrn]; früher in deutscher Sprache: Luggárus [luˈɡaːrʊs]) ist eine südschweizerische Stadt und Gemeinde im Bezirk Locarno (und seiner Hauptstadt) Nordufer des Lago Maggiore an seiner nordöstlichen Spitze im Kanton Tessin am südlichen Fuße der Schweizer Alpen. Es hat eine Bevölkerung von ungefähr 16.000 (eigentlichen) und ungefähr 56.000 für die gleichnamige Agglomeration, einschließlich Ascona neben anderen Gemeinden. Die Stadt Locarno liegt im nordöstlichen Teil des Maggia-Deltas; Auf der anderen Seite des Flusses liegt die Stadt Ascona im südwestlichen Teil des Deltas.
