Susa (; Persisch: Šuš; [ʃuʃ]; Hebräisch: שׁוּשָׁן Šušān; Griechisch: Σοῦσα [ˈsuːsa]; Syrisch: ܫܘܫ Šuš; Mittelpersisch: 𐭮𐭥𐭱𐭩 Sūš, 𐭱𐭥𐭮 Šūs; Altpersisch: 𐏂𐏁 Çūšā) war eine alte Stadt der Proto-Elamite, Elamite, First Persian Empire, Seleucid, Parthian und Sasanian Reich des Iran und eine der wichtigsten Städte des alten Nahen Ostens. Es befindet sich im unteren Zagros-Gebirge, etwa 250 km östlich des Tigris zwischen den Flüssen Karkheh und Dez. Das Gelände besteht jetzt "aus drei riesigen Hügeln, die eine Fläche von etwa einem Quadratkilometer einnehmen und als Apadana-Hügel, Akropolis-Hügel und Ville Royale-Hügel (königliche Stadt) bekannt sind." Die moderne iranische Stadt Shush befindet sich auf der Standort der alten Susa. Shush wird als Shushan bezeichnet, der im Buch Esther und in anderen biblischen Büchern erwähnt wird.
