Ennepetal ist eine Stadt im Landkreis Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Es wurde 1949 aus den ehemaligen Gemeinden Milspe und Voerde gegründet. Es wurde nach dem Fluss Ennepe benannt, der durch die Gemeinde fließt. Die Stadt wurde in den Schlagzeilen erwähnt, als ein Geiselnehmer am 12.
