Lorraine (auch Großbritannien :, USA :, Französisch: [lɔʁɛn]; Lorrain: Louréne; Lorraine Franconian: Lottringe; Deutsch: Lothringen [ˈloːtʁɪŋən]; Luxemburgisch: Loutrengen; Niederländisch: Lotharingen) ist eine kulturelle und historische Region im Nordosten Frankreich, jetzt in der Verwaltungsregion von Grand Est gelegen. Lothringens Name stammt aus dem mittelalterlichen Königreich Lotharingia, das wiederum nach Kaiser Lothair I oder König Lothair II benannt wurde. Es wurde später als Herzogtum Lothringen regiert, bevor das Königreich Frankreich es 1766 annektierte. Von 1982 bis Januar 2016 war Lothringen eine Verwaltungsregion Frankreichs. Im Jahr 2016 wurde es im Rahmen einer Umstrukturierung Teil der neuen Region Grand Est.
