Acquedolci ist eine italienische Stadt und Gemeinde in der Metropole Messina auf Sizilien. Piacenza (italienische Aussprache: [pjaˈtʃɛntsa]; Piacentino: Piaṡëinsa [pi.aˈzəi̯sɐ]; lateinisch: Placentia) ist eine Stadt und Gemeinde in der Region Emilia-Romagna in Norditalien, der Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen Provinz. Die Etymologie ist langjährig und geht auf das lateinische Verb placēre zurück, "um zu gefallen". Auf Französisch und gelegentlich auf Englisch heißt es Plaisance. Der Name bedeutet "angenehmer Aufenthaltsort", oder wie James Boswell von einigen Etymologen seiner Zeit berichtete, um ihn "schön" zu übersetzen. Dies war ein Name "guten Omens".
