Corniglia (ligurisch: Corniggia; lokal Curnigia) ist ein Frazione ("Weiler") in der Gemeinde Vernazza in der Provinz La Spezia, Ligurien, Norditalien, mit einer Bevölkerung von etwa 150 (im Jahr 2016). Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Orten der Cinque Terre liegt Corniglia nicht direkt am Meer. Stattdessen befindet es sich auf einem etwa 100 Meter hohen Vorgebirge, das an drei Seiten von Weinbergen und Terrassen umgeben ist. Die vierte Seite steigt steil zum Meer ab. Um Corniglia zu erreichen, muss man die Lardarina besteigen, eine lange gemauerte Treppe, die aus 33 Flügen mit 382 Stufen besteht, oder auf andere Weise einer Fahrzeugstraße folgen, die vom Bahnhof zum Dorf führt.

Quarto ist ein Buch oder eine Broschüre, die aus vollständigen "Rohlingen" hergestellt wird, von denen jede mit acht Textseiten gedruckt wird, vier zu einer Seite, und dann zweimal gefaltet wird, um vier Blätter zu erzeugen. Die Blätter werden dann entlang der Falten zu acht Buchseiten geschnitten. Jede gedruckte Seite wird als ein Viertel der Größe des vollständigen Rohlings angezeigt. Das früheste bekannte europäische gedruckte Buch ist ein Quarto, das Sibyllenbuch, das vermutlich 1452–53 von Gutenberg vor der Gutenberg-Bibel gedruckt wurde und nur als Fragment erhalten blieb. Quarto wird auch als allgemeine Beschreibung der Größe von Büchern verwendet, die etwa 30 cm groß sind, und gibt als solche nicht unbedingt das tatsächliche Druckformat der Bücher an, das möglicherweise sogar unbekannt ist, wie dies bei vielen modernen Büchern der Fall ist Bücher.
