Torrita ist ein Ort am Abschnitt des Mallee Highway und der Pinnaroo-Eisenbahnlinie zwischen Ouyen und der südaustralischen Grenze in der Region Sunraysia. Der Ort auf der Straße liegt etwa 13 Kilometer östlich von Underbool und 8 Kilometer westlich von Walpeup. Ein Postamt wurde am 15. Juli 1912 eröffnet, als ein Monat zuvor durch die Eröffnung der Eisenbahnstrecke von Ouyen nach Murrayville ein regulärer Postdienst angeboten wurde, der jedoch bis 1921 als Nyang bekannt war und 1984 geschlossen wurde. Der Name Nyang ist in der Nyang-Flora erhalten Reservieren Sie südlich der Autobahn.
