Foligno ist eine antike Stadt Italiens in der Provinz Perugia im Osten Zentralumbriens am Topino, wo sie den Apennin verlässt und in die weite Ebene des Clitunno-Flusssystems mündet. Es liegt 40 Kilometer südöstlich von Perugia, 10 km nordnordwestlich von Trevi und 6 km südlich von Spello. Es ist somit ein wichtiges Eisenbahnzentrum mit Reparatur- und Wartungshöfen für die Züge Mittelitaliens und wurde daher im Zweiten Weltkrieg schweren alliierten Luftangriffen ausgesetzt, die für seinen relativ modernen Aspekt verantwortlich sind, obwohl es einige mittelalterliche Denkmäler bewahrt.
