Vasto (Abruzzen: lù Uàštë; Altgriechisch: Ἱστόνιον, romanisiert: Histonion, lateinisch: Histonium) ist eine kleine Stadt am Meer auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite von Rom und Gemeinde an der Adriaküste der Provinz Chieti in den südlichen Abruzzen, Italien. Es wurde im Mittelalter auch als Guastaymonis oder Vasto d'Aimone und auch Waste d'Aimone bezeichnet. Unter der faschistischen Herrschaft in Istonio umbenannt, erhielt es 1944 den heutigen Namen Vasto.
