Panarea (italienische Aussprache: [panaˈrɛːa]; Altgriechisch: Εὐώνυμος Euōnymos) ist die kleinste der sieben bewohnten Äolischen Inseln, eine vulkanische Inselkette im Norden Siziliens, Süditalien. Es ist ein Frazione der Gemeinde Lipari. Derzeit leben auf der Insel das ganze Jahr über etwa 280 Einwohner. Im Sommer nimmt die Bevölkerung jedoch mit dem Zustrom von Touristen dramatisch zu. Im Jahr 2018 lebten 260.897 Menschen in der Comune di Venezia, von denen rund 55.000 in der historischen Stadt Venedig (centro storico) leben. Zusammen mit Padua und Treviso gehört die Stadt zur Metropolregion Padua-Treviso-Venedig (PATREVE), die als statistische Metropolregion mit einer Gesamtbevölkerung von 2,6 Millionen gilt.
