Altamura (, Italian: [ˌaltaˈmuːra]; Barese: Ialtamùre) is a town and comune of Apulia, in southern Italy. The 130,000-year-old calcified Altamura Man was discovered in 1993 in the nearby limestone cave called grotta di Lamalunga.
