Belfort (French pronunciation: [bɛl.fɔʁ], archaic German: Beffert/Beffort) is a city in northeastern France in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté région, situated between Lyon and Strasbourg and approximately 25 km (16 mi) from the French-Swiss border.
