Pontida is a comune in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northeast of Milan and about 13 kilometres (8 mi) northwest of Bergamo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,112 and an area of 10.1 square kilometres (3.9 sq mi).It has been the location of the Pontida's Oath on 7 April 1167. Pontida received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on July 11, 2006.
