Senigallia is a comune and port town on Italy's Adriatic coast. Senigallia's small port is located at the mouth of the river Misa. Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), which is considered a statistical metropolitan area, with a total population of 2.6 million.The name is derived from the ancient Veneti people who inhabited the region by the 10th century BC.
