Tonco is a comune in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) east of Turin and about 13 kilometres (8 mi) north of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 895 and an area of 11.8 square kilometres (4.6 sq mi).Tonco borders the following municipalities: Alfiano Natta, Calliano, Castell'Alfero, Corsione, Frinco, Montiglio Monferrato, Villa San Secondo, and Villadeati.

In 2018, 260,897 people resided in the Comune di Venezia, of whom around 55,000 live in the historical city of Venice (centro storico). Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), which is considered a statistical metropolitan area, with a total population of 2.6 million.The name is derived from the ancient Veneti people who inhabited the region by the 10th century BC.
