Un bergantín es un velero con dos mástiles de aparejo cuadrado. Durante la Era de la Vela, los bergantines eran vistos como rápidos y maniobrables y se usaban como buques de guerra navales y buques mercantes. Fueron especialmente populares en los siglos XVIII y principios del XIX.
