Camerano es una comuna en la provincia de Ancona en la región italiana de Marche, ubicada a unos 10 kilómetros (6 millas) al sureste de Ancona. Camerano limita con los siguientes municipios: Ancona, Castelfidardo, Osimo, Sirolo. Camerano es más notable por el extenso sistema de túneles que se encuentra debajo de la mayor parte de la ciudad vieja. Estos túneles se construyeron en el lecho rocoso de piedra arenisca de Camera, con construcciones que ocurrieron poco a poco desde la época romana, hasta el siglo XIX. Aunque originalmente se pensó que la causa de este edificio de túneles había sido como bodegas de almacenamiento de vino, la exploración posterior reveló que estos túneles comenzaron con los romanos, y luego se ampliaron enormemente para funcionar como un refugio de las incursiones árabes en Italia a principios de la Edad Media.
