Locarno (italiano: [loˈkarno], alemán: [loˈkarno]; Ticinese: Locarn [luˈkɑːrn]; anteriormente en alemán: Luggárus [luˈɡaːrʊs]) es una ciudad y municipio del sur de Suiza en el distrito de Locarno (y su capital), ubicado en el costa norte del lago Maggiore en su extremo noreste en el cantón de Ticino al pie sur de los Alpes suizos. Tiene una población de aproximadamente 16,000 (propiamente dicha), y aproximadamente 56,000 para la aglomeración del mismo nombre incluyendo Ascona además de otros municipios. La ciudad de Locarno está ubicada en la parte noreste del delta de Maggia; Al otro lado del río se encuentra la ciudad de Ascona, en la parte suroeste del delta.
