Sezzadio es una comuna en la provincia de Alessandria en la región italiana de Piamonte, ubicada a unos 80 kilómetros (50 millas) al sureste de Turín y a unos 15 kilómetros (9 millas) al sur de Alessandria. Sezzadio limita con los siguientes municipios: Carpeneto, Cassine, Castelnuovo Bormida, Castelspina, Gamalero, Montaldo Bormida, Predosa y Rivalta Bormida. La vista principal es la Abadía de Santa Giustina, fundada en 722 por el rey lombardo Liutprand. En 1033 fue ampliado por el marqués de Sezzadio, Oberto, y alcanzó su mayor esplendor en los siglos XI al XIII, permaneciendo bajo los benedictinos hasta 1474. La iglesia tiene una gran fachada de cotto dividida por pilastras y coronada por bandas lombardas.
