Eschede es un municipio en el distrito de Celle, en Baja Sajonia, Alemania. Hoy, alrededor de 20 pequeños pueblos forman parte de la "Gemeinde Eschede". En 1975, el incendio forestal más grande en la historia de Alemania destruyó vastas extensiones de bosques en el área. El lugar también es conocido por el desastre del tren Eschede en 1998, en el que un tren ICE se estrelló, matando a 101 y convirtiéndolo en el peor accidente ferroviario alemán desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
