Varenna (Comasco, Lecchese: Varena) es una comuna (municipio) en el lago de Como en la provincia de Lecco en la región italiana de Lombardía, ubicada a unos 60 kilómetros (37 millas) al norte de Milán y a unos 20 kilómetros (12 millas) al noroeste de Lecco . Varenna fue fundada por pescadores locales en 769, y más tarde se alió con la comuna de Milán. En 1126 fue destruido por la comuna rival de Como, y luego recibió a los refugiados de la Isola Comacina, que había encontrado el mismo destino (1169). Turbigo es una comuna en la provincia de Milán en la región italiana de Lombardía, ubicada a unos 35 kilómetros (22 millas) al oeste de Milán, a lo largo del canal Naviglio Grande. Al 31 de diciembre de 2004, tenía una población de 7,486 y un área de 8.5 kilómetros cuadrados (3.3 millas cuadradas). Turbigo limita con los siguientes municipios: Castano Primo, Cameri, Robecchetto con Induno, Galliate. Es el lugar de nacimiento del naturalista Giuseppe Gené. Es el hogar de un castillo medieval, conocido desde el siglo IX y quizás construido alrededor de una torre romana, y de la iglesia de Santi Cosma e Damiano (1639–40).
