Alcamo est la quatrième plus grande ville de la province de Trapani en Sicile, avec une population de 45 374 habitants. Il se trouve à la frontière de la ville métropolitaine de Palerme, à une distance d'environ 50 kilomètres de Palerme et de Trapani. Aujourd'hui, le territoire de la ville comprend une superficie de 130,79 kilomètres carrés et est la deuxième municipalité quant à la densité de population dans la province de Trapani, après Erice.Alcamo est délimitée par la mer Tyrrhénienne au nord, Balestrate et Partinico à l'est, Camporeale sur la au sud et Calatafimi-Segesta et Castellammare del Golfo à l'ouest.
