Porretta Terme est une ville de la vallée de Reno des Apennins toscans-émiliens, une frazione de la commune d'Alto Reno Terme, en Émilie-Romagne. Porretta Terme est située à environ 60 kilomètres (37 mi) au sud-ouest de Bologne. Connue depuis l'époque romaine pour ses sources thermales, c'est aussi un centre de sports d'hiver grâce aux stations voisines de Corno alle Scale, Abetone, Monte Cimone. C'était une commune distincte jusqu'en janvier 2016, date à laquelle elle a fusionné avec Granaglione pour former la nouvelle commune d'Alto Reno Terme. Pendant la campagne d'Italie dans la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Porretta a abrité le quartier général de la 1ère division de l'armée brésilienne entre novembre 1944 et la percée finale de la ligne gothique.Depuis décembre 1987, Porretta Terme est le site d'un festival de musique soul conçu par Graziano Uliani, un passionné de musique soul qui, après avoir assisté aux événements de Macon, en Géorgie, commémorant le 20e anniversaire de la mort du musicien américain Otis Redding, a décidé de consacrer un festival en son honneur.
