D'abord colonisée par les Grecs au deuxième millénaire avant JC, Naples est l'une des plus anciennes zones urbaines habitées en permanence au monde. Au IXe siècle avant JC, une colonie connue sous le nom de Parthénope ou Παρθενόπη a été établie sur l'île de Megaride.

Certaldo est une ville et comune de Toscane, en Italie, dans la ville métropolitaine de Florence, au milieu de Valdelsa. Il se trouve à environ 35 kilomètres au sud-ouest du Florence Duomo, à 50 minutes en train et à 35 minutes en voiture au sud-ouest de Florence et à 40 minutes en train au nord de Sienne. Il abritait la famille de Giovanni Boccaccio, auteur du Decameron. Il est décédé à son domicile à l'intérieur de la ville et a été enterré ici en 1375. L'acteur Ernesto Calindri est également né à Certaldo.
