Sezzadio est une commune de la province d'Alexandrie dans la région italienne du Piémont, située à environ 80 kilomètres (50 mi) au sud-est de Turin et à environ 15 kilomètres (9 mi) au sud d'Alexandrie. Sezzadio est limitrophe des communes suivantes: Carpeneto, Cassine, Castelnuovo Bormida, Castelspina, Gamalero, Montaldo Bormida, Predosa et Rivalta Bormida. La vue principale est l'abbaye de Santa Giustina, fondée en 722 par le roi lombard Liutprand. En 1033, elle fut agrandie par le marquis de Sezzadio, Oberto, et atteignit sa plus grande splendeur du XIe au XIIIe siècle, restant sous les Bénédictins jusqu'en 1474. L'église a une grande façade en terre cuite divisée par des pilastres et couronnée par des bandes lombardes.
