Campolattaro est une commune de 1101 habitants dans la province de Bénévent dans la région italienne de Campanie, située à environ 60 kilomètres (37 mi) au nord-est de Naples et à environ 20 kilomètres au nord de Bénévent, sa capitale provinciale. Bordant les municipalités de Casalduni, Circello, Fragneto l'Abate, Fragneto Monforte, Morcone et Pontelandolfo, Campolattaro fait partie de la région historique de Samnium. Placé au nord du mont Sauco (572 m) près de la rivière Tammaro, il a une altitude comprise entre 322 et 572 m d'altitude. La ville, développée à l'époque médiévale, attire le visiteur pour sa structure urbaine particulière divisée en trois parties: la partie supérieure; la place de la ville près du château; et l'ancien borgo. La partie supérieure de la ville, située au sommet de la colline, est caractérisée par une série de ruelles escarpées qui mènent à la place de la ville au pied du château.

C'est la capitale administrative de la province de Côme.
