Modène (Royaume-Uni:, États-Unis:, italien: [ˈmɔːdena]; Modenese: Mòdna [ˈmɔdnɐ]; étrusque: Mutna; latin: Mutina) est une ville et comune (municipalité) située au sud de la vallée du Pô, dans la province de Modène dans la région d'Émilie-Romagne au nord de l'Italie. L'Université de Modène, fondée en 1175 et agrandie par Francesco II d'Este en 1686, se concentre sur l'économie, la médecine et le droit, et est le deuxième plus ancien athénée d'Italie. Les officiers militaires italiens sont formés à l'Académie militaire de Modène, et en partie logés dans le palais baroque ducal.
