Gragnano, une ville montagneuse située entre une crête montagneuse et la côte amalfitaine, est une commune (municipalité) de la ville métropolitaine de Naples, dans le sud de l'Italie centrale Campanie, située à environ 30 kilomètres (19 miles) au sud-est de la ville de Naples. Gragnano est limitrophe des communes suivantes: Agerola, Casola di Napoli, Castellammare di Stabia, Lettere, Pimonte, Ravello, Sant'Antonio Abate, Santa Maria la Carità, Scala. En 1169, son nom a été ajouté au titre de l'évêché de Lettere voisin, qui a ainsi été rebaptisé diocèse catholique romain de Lettere-Gragnano, mais Gragnano n'a jamais eu de co-cathédrale et son titre a été abandonné lorsque le siège supprimé a été nominalement restauré en tant que titulaire évêché de Lettere.
