Hanovre ou Hanovre (; allemand: Hanovre [haˈnoːfɐ]; bas allemand: Hannober) est la capitale et la plus grande ville de l'État allemand de Basse-Saxe. La ville se situe au confluent de la rivière Leine (progression: Aller → Weser → Mer du Nord) et de son affluent Ihme, au sud de la plaine d'Allemagne du Nord, et est la plus grande ville de la région métropolitaine de Hanovre – Braunschweig – Göttingen – Wolfsburg . C'est la cinquième plus grande ville du dialecte bas-allemand après Hambourg, Dortmund, Essen et Brême.
