Guglielmo Giovanni Maria Marconi, 1er marquis de Marconi FRSA (italien: [ɡuʎˈʎɛlmo marˈkoːni]; 25 avril 1874 - 20 juillet 1937) était un inventeur et ingénieur électricien italien, connu pour ses travaux pionniers sur la transmission radio à longue distance, le développement de la loi de Marconi et un système radiotélégraphique. Il est reconnu comme l'inventeur de la radio et il a partagé le prix Nobel de physique de 1909 avec Karl Ferdinand Braun "en reconnaissance de leurs contributions au développement de la télégraphie sans fil". Marconi était également un entrepreneur, homme d'affaires et fondateur du Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company au Royaume-Uni en 1897 (devenue Marconi Company). Il a réussi à faire de la radio un succès technique et commercial en innovant et en s'appuyant sur les travaux des expérimentateurs et physiciens précédents.
