Gorizia (prononciation italienne: [ɡoˈrittsja]; slovène: Gorica [ɡɔˈɾìːtsa], familièrement stara Gorica 'old Gorizia' pour le distinguer de Nova Gorica; allemand: Görz; frioulan standard: Gurize, frioulan du sud-est: Guriza; Bisiacco: Gorisia), anglais (obsolète) également "Goritz", est une ville et une commune du nord-est de l'Italie, dans la région autonome du Frioul-Vénétie Julienne. Il est situé au pied des Alpes juliennes, à la frontière de la Slovénie. C'est la capitale de la province de Gorizia et un centre local de tourisme, d'industrie et de commerce. Depuis 1947, une ville jumelle de Nova Gorica s'est développée de l'autre côté de la frontière italo-slovène moderne. Toute la région a fait l'objet d'un différend territorial entre l'Italie et la Yougoslavie après la Seconde Guerre mondiale: après que les nouvelles frontières ont été établies en 1947 et que la vieille ville a été laissée à l'Italie, Nova Gorica a été construite du côté yougoslave.
