Krün est une municipalité du district de Haute-Bavière de Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Il appartient à Garmisch-Partenkirchen en tant que capitale de district et centre culturel ainsi qu'à d'autres municipalités de la région Werdenfelser Land. A quelques kilomètres au sud passe la frontière germano-autrichienne.
