Cherbourg-Octeville (, également au Royaume-Uni:, aux États-Unis:, en français: [ʃɛʁbuʁ ɔkt (ə) vil]) est une ville et une ancienne commune située à l'extrémité nord de la péninsule du Cotentin dans le nord-ouest du département français de la Manche. C'est une sous-préfecture de son département, et a été officiellement constituée lorsque la commune de Cherbourg a absorbé Octeville le 28 février 2000. Le 1er janvier 2016, elle a fusionné avec la nouvelle commune de Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. La ville est une préfecture et sous-préfecture des Maritimes. De par son union, c'est la ville la plus peuplée de son département avec 37121 habitants (plus de 85000 avec sa banlieue) ce qui en fait la première ville du département avant la préfecture de Saint-Lô et la deuxième de la région après Caen.
