Paestum était une grande ville grecque antique sur la côte de la mer Tyrrhénienne à Magna Graecia (sud de l'Italie). Les ruines de Paestum sont célèbres pour leurs trois temples grecs antiques de l'ordre dorique, datant d'environ 600 à 450 avant JC, qui sont en très bon état de conservation. Les murs de la ville et l'amphithéâtre sont en grande partie intacts, et le bas des murs de nombreuses autres structures restent, ainsi que des routes pavées.
