Modica [ˈmɔːdika] (sicilien: Muòrica, grec: Μότουκα, motouka, latin: Mutyca ou Motyca) est une ville et une commune de 54,456 habitants dans la province de Raguse, en Sicile, dans le sud de l'Italie. La ville est située dans les montagnes Hyblaean. Modica a des origines néolithiques et représente la capitale historique de la région qui correspond aujourd'hui presque à la province de Raguse. Jusqu'au 19e siècle, elle était la capitale d'un comté qui exerçait une telle influence politique, économique et culturelle pour être comptée parmi les querelles les plus puissantes du Mezzogiorno. Reconstruite à la suite du tremblement de terre dévastateur de 1693, son architecture a été reconnue comme un témoignage exceptionnel du génie exubérant et de la floraison finale de l'art baroque en Europe et, avec d'autres villes du Val di Noto, fait partie des sites du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en Italie.

Pescara (prononciation italienne: [peˈskaːra]; Abruzzese: Pescàrë; Pescarese: Piscàrë) est la capitale de la province de Pescara, dans la région des Abruzzes en Italie. C'est la ville la plus peuplée des Abruzzes, avec 119 217 habitants (2018) (et environ 350 000, y compris la zone métropolitaine environnante).
