Foligno (prononciation italienne: [foˈliɲːo]; Ombrie méridionale: Fuligno) est une ancienne ville d'Italie dans la province de Pérouse dans le centre-est de l'Ombrie, sur la rivière Topino où elle quitte les Apennins et pénètre dans la vaste plaine du système fluvial Clitunno. Il est situé à 40 kilomètres (25 miles) au sud-est de Pérouse, à 10 km (6 mi) au nord-nord-ouest de Trevi et à 6 km (4 mi) au sud de Spello. Alors que Foligno est un évêché actif, l'une de ses paroisses civiles, San Giovanni Profiamma, est le site historique de l'ancien évêché de Foro Flaminio, qui reste un siège titulaire catholique latin. La gare de Foligno fait partie de la ligne principale de Rome à Ancône, et est la jonction pour Pérouse; c'est donc un important centre ferroviaire, avec des chantiers de réparation et d'entretien pour les trains du centre de l'Italie, et a donc été soumis à de sévères bombardements aériens alliés pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, responsables de son aspect relativement moderne, bien qu'il conserve quelques monuments médiévaux. De son passé romain aucune trace significative ne subsiste, à l'exception du plan régulier des rues du centre.
