Le Musée national des chemins de fer de Pietrarsa (en italien: Museo Nazionale Ferroviario di Pietrarsa) se trouve à côté de la voie ferrée Naples-Portici, entre la ville de Naples et les villes de Portici et San Giorgio a Cremano. Pietrarsa est une zone parmi ces villages dans le passé connue sous le nom de «Pietra Bianca» (pierre blanche) mais elle a été rebaptisée Pietrarsa (pierre brûlée) après l'éruption du Vésuve en 1631. Le musée est logé dans ce qui était à l'origine l'ancien atelier de Bourbon Officine di Pietrarsa, fondée en 1840 sous le commandement de Ferdinand II de Bourbon, où furent construites des machines à vapeur pour navires et des chaudières pour locomotives. L'atelier était organisé en pavillons (où la collection est aujourd'hui exposée) qui abritaient les différents départements, chacun spécialisé dans une partie différente du cycle de production.
