Gemonio est une commune (municipalité) de la province de Varèse dans la région italienne de Lombardie, située à environ 60 kilomètres (37 mi) au nord-ouest de Milan et à environ 14 kilomètres (9 mi) au nord-ouest de Varèse. Au 31 décembre 2004, il comptait une population de 2702 habitants et une superficie de 3,7 kilomètres carrés (1,4 miles carrés) .Gemonio borde les municipalités suivantes: Azzio, Besozzo, Brenta, Caravate, Cittiglio, Cocquio-Trevisago. Venise (VEN-iss; italien: Venezia [veˈnɛttsja]; vénitien: Venesia ou Venexia, prononcé [veˈnɛsja]) est une ville du nord-est de l'Italie et la capitale de la région de la Vénétie. Avec Padoue et Trévise, la ville est incluse dans la zone métropolitaine de Padoue-Trévise-Venise (PATREVE), qui est considérée comme une zone métropolitaine statistique, avec une population totale de 2,6 millions d'habitants.Le nom est dérivé de l'ancien peuple vénitien qui habitait la région au 10ème siècle avant JC.
