Viareggio est une ville et une commune du nord de la Toscane, en Italie, sur la côte de la mer Tyrrhénienne. Avec une population de plus de 62 000 habitants, c'est la deuxième plus grande ville de la province de Lucques, après Lucques. Elle est connue comme une station balnéaire et abrite le célèbre carnaval de Viareggio (datant de 1873), et ses chars en papier mâché, qui (depuis 1925) défilent le long de la promenade connue sous le nom de "Passeggiata a mare" dans les semaines du Carnaval.
