Locarno (Italiaans: [loˈkarno], Duits: [loˈkarno]; Ticinese: Locarn [luˈkɑːrn]; voorheen in het Duits: Luggárus [luˈɡaːrʊs]) is een Zuid-Zwitserse stad en gemeente in het district Locarno (en de hoofdstad), gelegen aan de noordelijke oever van het Lago Maggiore aan de noordoostelijke punt in het kanton Ticino aan de zuidelijke voet van de Zwitserse Alpen. Het heeft een bevolking van ongeveer 16.000 (eigen) en ongeveer 56.000 voor de agglomeratie met dezelfde naam, waaronder Ascona, naast andere gemeenten.
