Nyon [njɔ̃] is een gemeente in het district Nyon in het kanton Vaud in Zwitserland. Het ligt ongeveer 25 kilometer ten noordoosten van het stadscentrum van Genève en maakt sinds de jaren zeventig deel uit van het grootstedelijk gebied van Genève. Het ligt aan de oevers van het Meer van Genève en is de zetel van Nyon District. De stad heeft (vanaf december 2018) een bevolking van 21.198 en staat in de sportwereld bekend als het hoofdkantoor van de Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) en de European Club Association (ECA). Het is verbonden met de rest van Zwitserland via de Route Suisse, de snelweg A1 en de spoorlijnen van de Arc Lémanique.

Basel of Bazel (BAHL; Frans: Bâle [bɑl]; Italiaans: Basilea [baziˈlɛːa]; Reto-Romaans: Basilea [baziˈleːa]) is een stad in het noordwesten van Zwitserland aan de rivier de Rijn.
