Schwäbisch is een van de dialectgroepen van het Alemannisch Duits die tot het Hoogduitse dialectcontinuüm behoren. Het wordt voornamelijk gesproken in Zwaben, gelegen in het midden en zuidoosten van Baden-Württemberg (inclusief de hoofdstad Stuttgart en de Zwabische Juraregio) en het zuidwesten van Beieren (Beiers Zwaben). De dialecten van de Donau-Zwabische bevolking van Hongarije, het voormalige Joegoslavië en Roemenië zijn slechts nominaal Zwabisch en zijn niet alleen te herleiden tot Zwabische maar ook tot Frankische, Beierse en Hessische Duitse dialecten, met lokaal variërende mate van invloed van de oorspronkelijke dialecten.
